Following is a brief overview of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, which is situated in northern Arizona and southern Utah.
GLEN CANYON NATIONAL RECREATION AREA
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is a protected and managed designated recreational playground. Visitors to the Grand Canyon, Arizona and Utah are the benefactors.
This recreational area’s star attraction is Lake Powell, the second largest manmade lake in the U. S. Enjoy this area’s golden cliffs, lush hanging gardens, impossibly narrow slot canyons, and the brilliant blue paradox of Lake Powell.
The NRA stretches from Lees Ferry, in Arizona, to the cliffs of southern Utah and offers outdoor enthusiasts great fishing, boating, waterskiing, jet skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, swimming, hiking, mountain biking and camping opportunities that are unmatched.
