Regardless of where you start your Grand Canyon National Park vacation, you'll find an exciting scenic route to the park when you follow one of these sample Grand Canyon maps and itineraries. In fact, we recommend that, when possible, choose different routes for your travel to and from Grand Canyon. Each of these travel routes has its own unique combination of stunning scenery, unique attractions and history to keep you entertained, and to make your trip more memorable.

YELLOW – Los Angeles, CA, to Grand Canyon's South Rim (567 miles)
L. A. is a popular starting point for travelers who are embarking on an extended Western U. S. vacation. Travel from L. A. by the Mojave National Reserve to Las Vegas, NV before heading south and east toward Williams, AZ, and eventually the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

RED – Cheyenne, WY, to Grand Canyon's South Rim (866 miles)
Cheyenne, WY, is home to the largest outdoor rodeo in the world. From Cheyenne, travel south to Denver, CO, before heading west to Grand Junction, then to Moab, UT, home to Arches National Park, then south to Monticello, continuing through Monument Valley to Page, AZ for a glimpse of Lake Powell, before continuing south to Grand Canyon's South Rim.

PURPLE – Salt Lake City, UT, to Grand Canyon's North Rim (463 miles)
Start in Salt Lake City, Utah's cultural and outdoor city before traveling south on I-15 through Provo, Nephi, Cedar City and St. George, UT. From St. George, continue southeast to Colorado City, Fredonia, and Jacob Lake, before continuing south to Grand Canyon's North Rim. (IMPORTANT: North Rim is open from mid-May through mid-October)

BLUE – Tucson, AZ, to Grand Canyon's South Rim (408 miles)
Start 60 miles north of the Mexican border in Tucson before traveling through Phoenix and Scottsdale. Continue north on I-17 to Highway 69 to beautiful Prescott before arriving at unique and red rock-filled Sedona. From Sedona, travel to Flagstaff, AZ, home to the state's highest peak. From Flagstaff, head north on Hwy 180 to Valle, AZ and Grand Canyon's South Rim.

GREEN – Denver, CO, to Grand Canyon's South Rim (865 miles)
From Denver, head south on I-25 to Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Trinidad before arriving at Las Vegas, NM. Continue west to Santa Fe, and then Albuquerque, NM before taking I-40 West to Gallup, NM. Continue west to Flagstaff, AZ, north to Valle and soonafter, Grand Canyon's South Rim.

ORANGE – Reno, NV, to Grand Canyon's South Rim (813 miles)
Start in Reno, NV before heading south to enjoy the beauty of Lake Tahoe. From South Lake Tahoe, head south to Las Vegas, NV before continuing to Kingman, AZ. From here it follows the Historic Route 66 to Peach Springs and Seligman. Then it's I-40 East to Williams, AZ, and north to Grand Canyon's South Rim.

CYAN – Denver, CO, to Grand Canyon's South Rim (845 miles)
Originating in Denver, this Yellowstone map detours through the Rocky Mt. National Park where you'll find spectacular views and gorgeous mountain ranges as you make your way to Yellowstone Park.
