WINTER RECREATION

Okay, so a white winter wonderland is not the image that arises when you think of the Grand Canyon. But this region does experience winter, and it’s a treat to cross country ski or snowshoe along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Alpine skiing can be found in Flagstaff.

Just because Grand Canyon is semi-arid desert country doesn't mean there is no winter in the national park and surrounding regions. This winter we'll be traveling the region in pursuit of the best winter recreation opportunities available to visitors. The result will be our "Editor's Picks".
