Relief is on the way for overheated Arizonan's spending the holiday weekend in the Phoenix Metro area. The Flagstaff Convention and Visitors Bureau will drop interactive frozen features (bikes, snowboard, telescope and a set of hiking boots and trekking poles encased in 300 pound blocks of ice) at eight Phoenix valley locations, July 3 and 4. The public is encouraged to stop by each location and enter to win prizes including one four day trip to Flagstaff, an Electra Classic Cruiser bicycle or a Year of Pluto telescope.

With an average summer high of 82 degrees, Flagstaff wants to remind valley residents it's only a two hour drive to #VisitCool. At each frozen location, Flagstaff Ambassadors will be present to talk about the city's attractions and take sign-ups for the prize giveaway. Prize winners will be announced Monday, July 6.

In addition to frosty photo ops; children, less than 100 pounds, can learn to snowboard at the Arizona Snowbowl Tundra Kids Park and will receive a complimentary scenic chair lift ride ticket for participating at the Legends Entertainment District/Chase Field location on July 3 at 4:30 p.m. and the Westgate Entertainment District Firework Fest location on July 4 at 5 p.m.
