If you want to get as close as possible to the Grand Canyon by air, the Grand Canyon Airport located in Tusayan is just 7 miles from the South Rim and serves private tour operators.

You’ll find flights in and out of Sky Harbor from most major U.S. carriers including Alaska, American, Delta, Southwest and United.
Sky Harbor is approximately 230-miles to the Grand Canyon Village at the South Rim. Plan for a 3.5 hour drive from the airport.

This is the main commercial airport for Las Vegas, Nev., and was formerly called McCarran International Airport. It is about 5 miles south of downtown Las Vegas, in the unincorporated area of Paradise in Clark County.
Many major airlines operate flights out of this airport including American, Delta, Southwest and United.
Harry Reid is approximately 275-miles to the Grand Canyon Village at the South Rim. Plan for a 4 hour drive from the airport.

Salt Lake City International Airport is a civil-military airport about 4 miles west of Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. It serves as a major hub for Delta Air Lines and many other major airlines operate flights out of this airport including Air Canada, American, Frontier, Southwest and Untied.
Salt Lake City International is approximately 550 miles to the Grand Canyon Village at the South Rim. Plan for a 9 hour drive from the airport. It is approximately 350 miles from the Grand Canyon’s North Rim. Plan for a 6 hour drive from the airport.

Located 7 miles from the Grand Canyon’s South Rim and 2 miles from the park entrance, this airport is certainly the closest to the park. However, it does not serve commercial air carries so to fly in and out of this airport, you’ll need to book with a tour operator. Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines and West Wind Air Service offer scenic flights on fixed-wing planes to and from the Grand Canyon Airport. If you want to take a helicopter tour, Maverick Helicopters, Papillon and Grand Canyon Helicopters offer scenic tours from nearby metropolitan areas like Las Vegas.
