How to get to this remote park in Arizona

Here are your transportation options to get to all your great adventures. Ride the Grand Canyon Railway. Fly to the nearest airport and rent a car. Take a bus.

Airports Serving the Grand Canyon

Commercial airports in Las Vegas, Phoenix and Flagstaff serve the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. There is limited air service into Grand Canyon Airport (10 miles / 16 km south of the park). There is no airport service to the North Rim.

Bus Service to the Grand Canyon

Free National Park Shuttle Service includes service between Tusayan and Grand Canyon Village at the South Rim from March through September.

Groome Transportation (previously called Arizona Shuttle) provides scheduled daily van shuttle service on five routes traveling between Phoenix and the Grand Canyon area. Contact: groometransportation.com/arizona; advance purchase of tickets is recommended.

Grand Canyon Shuttle Service has on-demand custom shuttle times and pickup locations including South Rim, North Rim, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Flagstaff. Trans Canyon Shuttle offers daily service between Grand Canyon South Rim and North Rim from mid-May to mid-Oct. Contact: trans-canyonshuttle.com; (928) 638-2820.

Car Rentals Near the Grand Canyon

Car rentals are no longer available from the Grand Canyon Airport. The closest car rentals are in Flagstaff including the Flagstaff Pulliam Airport (www.flyflagstaffaz.com) and the Flagstaff Amtrak station (trips.amtrak.com/car/).

Train Service to the Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon Railway offers train service between Williams and Grand Canyon Village in the national park. thetrain.com; 1-800-THE-TRAIN

Taxi Service to the Grand Canyon
