For more than 25 years, the center has welcomed visitors and shared the area’s history through exhibits. The friendly, knowledgeable staff are a great resource for all things related to Grand Canyon.
You also can purchase a Grand Canyon park pass and pick up free maps and information. The free Grand Canyon National Park Shuttle leaves seasonally from here. Grand Canyon IMAX Theater

The IMAX with Laser theater was renovated in 2023 to allow guests an incredible movie-going experience with crystal-clear images and precision sound.
Journey through 4,000 years of the Grand Canyon’s history when you watch the movie Grand Canyon Rivers of Time on an IMAX with Laser screen. The 37-minute film is a fantastic primer for you to learn about the incredible national park you’re about to experience from Native American tribes to wildlife to river history.
The film, which is shown on a six-story-high screen, is shown every hour on the half hour during business hours, which change seasonally. Insider’s tip: buy your IMAX tickets online at explorethecanyon.com to save up to 20%. While at the visitor center, buy your park pass, good for seven days. At no extra cost, it will enable you to use a special entry lane and avoid payment lines at the park entrance station.
